LifeWays Community Mental Health has provided behavioral health services to residents of Jackson and Hillsdale counties since 1966. We primarily serve county residents who have Medicaid, Healthy Michigan Plan, uninsured or under-insured who also have a diagnosed severe mental illness, intellectual/developmental disability, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorders. A wide variety of behavioral health treatment options are available through our Provider Network of over 40 behavioral health providers located locally and throughout Michigan.
LifeWays has been awarded the highest level of accreditation by CARF International. CARF accreditation is a public seal of trust and commitment to quality based on internationally accepted standards. Achieving this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to exceptional, personalized care. An organization receiving the highest level of CARF accreditation has undergone a detailed peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors, during an on-site visit, its commitment to providing programs and services of the highest quality. We are also held to the highest level of care by our overseeing organization, Mid-State Health Network (MSHN). Mid-State Health Network is comprised of 12 community mental health boards --including LifeWays-- that provides services to a 21-county area. MSHN also manages the substance use services for these counties.
