LifeWays partnered with the Jackson County Suicide Prevention Coalition to host the Stomp Out Suicide 5K at the end of May.

Despite a little rain, around 275 people showed up to remember loved ones lost to suicide, honor those who still struggle, and support suicide prevention. The event raised over $6,000 for suicide prevention efforts!

Suicide Prevention Day

You may have seen a group of LifeWays staff standing outside our building this past September. That wasn't just for a break in the sunshine - we were taking a stand against suicide with the Jackson Suicide Prevention Coalition!

Members of Team LifeWays stood outside our building on West Ave in Jackson holding signs with facts and statistics about suicide prevention and bringing awareness to a very important issue.

Walk A Mile In My Shoes Rally

walk a mile

Back in May, Team LifeWays journey up to the State Capitol to join the Michigan Association of Community Mental Health Boards (MACMHB) for their annual Walk A Mile In My Shoes Rally.

Over 3,000 mental health and intellectual & developmental disability advocates from around Michigan gathered in Lansing to demonstrate that mental health services are important to Michigan residents and that we all need to work together to stop the stigma against mental health problems.

Our Communities

At LifeWays, we believe in being an active part of our communities. LifeWays has had the privilege of serving Jackson and Hillsdale counties for over 50 years and, because of that, we make it our priority to support what matters to our communities.

Annually, LifeWays participates in nearly 30 community events such as

  • Special Olympics Polar Plunge
  • Walk Around the Park for Autism
  • Alzheimer's Walk
  • Walk for Recovery
  • Hillsdale County Fair
  • Stomp Out Suicide Event
  • Project Connect
  • and many more

Our staff's extracurricular committee, which we call the PERKs Team, chooses a different charity each month to support through jean days and fundraisers - typically donating around $300 to a deserving local organization every month. Between monthly fundraising, individual staff donations, and event sponsorships, LifeWays gives nearly $10,000 back to our communities each year.

We also offer use of our public meeting rooms to our communities for no charge. If you are interested in using one of our meeting spaces for your next meeting, please contact our Customer Services Department at 517.780.3332 or use the form on our Contact page.

We are proud to be a part of Jackson and Hillsdale counties and it is our honor to be able to serve you.
